HOW EVERYTHING BEGAN
The Journey
2000-2019
With the blessing of God and the unwavering support of my parents, I had the privilege of commencing my dance journey under the esteemed guidance of my Guru, Dr. Mrs. Gnanasunthary Vasan, in Zurich, Switzerland, at the tender age of four. Diligently progressing through my level exams, I participated in numerous competitions and performances across Switzerland.
12.2018
After dedicating nearly two decades to the rigorous practice of Bharathanatyam, I was prepared to undertake the Teacher's Grade Level exams in 2018. When December arrived, I successfully completed the exams, achieving the highest possible scores—a testament to my unwavering commitment and passion for this revered art form.
14.9.2019
Achieving my biggest dream of performing a Bharathanatya Arangetram after completing at least two Margams was a monumental milestone in my journey.
By divine grace, I successfully completed nearly three Margams and was primed for an Arangetram.
After months of intense preparation, my Bharathanatya Arangetram took place in Horgen, Switzerland, graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Marie Stella as the Chief Guest, along with distinguished dance instructors from across Europe and Switzerland.
This grand event not only showcased my 20-year journey as a dedicated student but also provided a platform to demonstrate my mastery and devotion to Bharathanatyam. In recognition of my accomplishments, my Guru awarded me the esteemed title of "Narthana Selvi" for being her tenth student to complete the Arangetram and for achieving nearly three Margams in Bharathanatyam.
8.2.2020
Following the completion of my teacher’s grade exams and my Bharathanatya Arangetram, I was resolute in my ambition to one day teach Bharathanatyam.
On the auspicious occasion of Thaipusam, I inaugurated my dance school, “Chidambareshwara,” in Zurich Oerlikon. With the blessings of God, my Guru, and my parents, I embarked on this enriching journey as a teacher, beginning with four dedicated students. Our vibrant community continues to flourish. Come and be a part of our growing family!
